Thank you 2012
In celebration of London 2012, Community Games helped to organize more than 1,640 Community Games across the country, supported by almost 37,000 volunteers.
The Games themselves ranged in size and scale but not in popularity, attracting more than 1,000,000 people. Not only was this a fitting way to commemorate London 2012 but Community Games is also set to leave a lasting impact on the individuals, families and communities that took part, with local communities from Cornwall to Northumberland already planning events for 2013.
Perhaps most importantly, the personal impact on participants has been huge, with more than half trying out a new sport at one of the events and more than three quarters of participants feeling proud of their community after taking part; something which the 71 events already planned for 2013 will continue to build upon.
So a big thank you to everyone that helped make 2012 such a success, and we can't wait to see you at one of next year's events.
