The Partners
Community Games was the brainchild of Legacy UK, a charity whose role was to create lasting impact from the Olympic and Paralympic Games by funding ideas and local talent to inspire creativity across the UK.
Community Games started in the West Midlands in 2010, and then the County Sports Partnership Network (CSPN) worked together with the YMCA to secure £2 million of funding from the Cabinet Office’s Big Society Fund to deliver Community Games across the country in 2012 and 2013. 3,551 communities have engaged with and staged Community Games since January 2012 and the hope is that many more will do so in 2014.
