Oswestry Community Games

Oswestry’s Community Games took place on 21st September on Town’s Park, within a short walk of the Town Centre.  It was the second year that the event had been held, organised by a local volunteer with the support of the Town Council and volunteers from many local clubs.  This year, 14 sports clubs put on activities, compared with eight last year, and it attracted more than 1,000 participants, almost double the 2013 attendance.

There was a real buzz at the event with families and friends having a great time.  The activities included:
•    A wide range of individual and team sports
•    Informal activities
•    Live music
•    Participatory arts activities

The highlight was the closing ceremony, which included a gymnastics display and presentations by a Gold medal winner from the Invictus Games.
